Hand creams honestly didn’t interest me at all before 2020, because I only needed them three times a year and a body lotion was fine for that. That has changed drastically. My boyfriend has particularly demanding hands, which is why I was able to test all organic hand creams with him for a year now. Meanwhile, I became a hand lotion fan, as I love not only the soft hands but also the pleasant scent. My favorites are international “classics” that smell fantastic, as well as German private label brands.
Organic Hand Creams Made in Munich
Maybe men do know best what men prefer. At least the hand lotion developed by Plainly founder Artsem Kruk is very well appreciated by my boyfriend, who tested it for me. He loves Plainly’s Energizing Hand Cream with mandarin lemongrass scent especially because it smells so fresh and absorbs very well. I personally find the Cacay oil and the sustainable packaging especially interesting. By the way, the pump dispenser, like all Plainly products, is made of glass and labeled with stone paper.
The Magic Hand Cream from I Want You Naked with hemp and lemon is currently at my desk. It also smells delightfully fresh and thus brightens up my home office day. In addition, it is absorbed insanely fast and is particularly moisturizing because the base is a high-quality aloe vera gel instead of water. Like Plainly, I Want You Naked is also from Munich and 100% owner-run. And what I love is that the brand offers a Return & Recycle program on their website. I saw the production facility for myself on site in December, but more on that in a detailed report.
International Love Brands
I have a crush on this mega stylish dispenser from Grown Alchemist. For all those who have a weak spot for design in addition to high-quality natural cosmetics, this new hand cream from Grown Alchemist is a must. It has a dreamy scent and is very nourishing. Perfect for chapped hands. The Silver Edition also makes for a wonderful gift.
Montolympe is a family-run business from Greece with German headquarters in Berlin. The raw materials are organically grown in the Peloponnese and then processed there in their own manufactory. MontOlympe’ s Hand & Nail Cream smells of Mediterranean mountain herbs, nourishes richly with argan and borage oil and acts as an antioxidant thanks to immortelle and red clover.

Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm. Aesop has so far always deliberately distanced itself from being certified as natural cosmetics, yet many products are of completely natural origin and all Aesop products are vegan. This hand cream is probably the only one that has been with me for many years, so I had to add it to this list. I love it because its woody scent of rosemary, tangerine peel, and cedarwood is quite unique.
